Job Description:

Venture Dynamics is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support ship repair and production planning operations in Norfolk, Virginia. The Project Scheduler develops, maintains, and analyzes production schedules to support shipyard operations, fabrication workflows, and project execution. This role works closely with project managers, superintendents, and production teams to ensure schedule accuracy, resource alignment, and timely project delivery in a fast-paced industrial environment. Assignments are project-based and may continue based on performance and operational needs.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
  • Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to plan, update, and track project schedules and milestones
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect changes in scope, manpower, and production performance
  • Resource-load schedules based on bid data, build plans, and production requirements
  • Analyze schedule impacts, identify risks, and recommend adjustments to maintain project timelines
  • Create and maintain master schedules to align production sequences with forecasts and customer deadlines
  • Track key performance metrics including manpower, budget alignment, and schedule performance
  • Generate reports, charts, and schedule updates for production and project leadership

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project scheduling or production planning within shipyard, fabrication, or industrial environments
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, fabrication processes, and project scheduling principles
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production plans
  • Experience analyzing schedule data, resource loading, and production capacity
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts and delays
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple departments and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Navy ship repair or shipyard production operations
  • Familiarity with earned value management (EVM) or production performance tracking
  • Experience working with fabrication shops, steel processing, or industrial manufacturing operations
  • Experience supporting bid schedules and estimating teams

Additional Information

Work is performed in office and shipyard environments supporting Navy and commercial repair operations. The role may require coordination with production teams, planners, and project personnel across active shipyard and industrial work areas. PPE is required when entering shipyard or production environments in accordance with site safety policies. Reliable transportation is required to report to assigned project locations. Work schedules may include overtime, nights, weekends, and variable hours based on project and production requirements.
