Job Description:

Venture Dynamics is seeking a Ship Superintendent to support Navy and commercial ship repair operations. The Ship Superintendent coordinates production activities, labor, and subcontractors to support assigned repair and maintenance projects under the direction of Project Management. This role supports planning, scheduling, and execution of work while ensuring production, quality, and contract requirements are met. Assignments are project-based and may continue based on performance and contract demand.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily production activities with trade supervisors and subcontractors to support project schedules and requirements
  • Ensure materials, tooling, manpower, and equipment are available to support assigned work scopes
  • Support Project Managers in maintaining production schedules, budgets, and project execution plans
  • Review drawings, specifications, and work packages to ensure work is performed in accordance with contract requirements
  • Assist in identifying change work and support documentation of condition found reports (CFRs)
  • Coordinate with QA personnel and supervision to ensure required documentation and reports are completed
  • Communicate with production teams and customers to resolve technical issues and maintain workflow

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, or industrial production environments
  • Experience coordinating production, labor, or multi-trade work in a shipyard or industrial setting
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical work packages
  • Strong organizational and communication skills in a production-driven environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks across multiple work scopes
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required site access credentials, including DBIDS when applicable
  • Must pass background screening and drug testing per customer requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Navy ship repair or availability-level work
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items and contract-driven repair environments
  • OSHA 10 Maritime or OSHA 30 certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field

Additional Information

Work is performed in active shipyard and shipboard environments supporting Navy and commercial repair operations. The role requires coordination with production teams, subcontractors, and customer representatives in industrial work zones. PPE is required when entering shipyard or shipboard areas in accordance with site safety policies. Work schedules are typically day shift but may include overtime, extended hours, nights, weekends, and variable shifts depending on project and production requirements. Reliable transportation is required to report to assigned shipyard or project locations.
