Safety Technician
Job Description:
Were looking for a dependable Safety Technician to support daily safety operations across multiple shipyard worksites. This role ensures a safe work environment by enforcing OSHA, NAVSEA, and company safety standards, conducting inspections, and supporting crews with hazard prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily safety walkthroughs, inspections, and audits throughout shipyard job sites.
- Monitor work areas for hazards and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide safety briefings, toolbox talks, and on-the-spot corrective guidance.
- Assist with incident investigations, reporting, and corrective action follow-up.
- Maintain documentation on inspections, PPE usage, training, and compliance.
- Coordinate with supervisors, foremen, and project managers to resolve safety concerns quickly.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce safe work practices at all times.
Requirements:
- Must have an active TWIC card or be eligible to obtain one.
- Previous shipyard or industrial safety experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, NAVSEA standards, and shipyard safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and observation skills.
- Ability to walk, climb, and stand for extended periods in a shipyard environment.
- Must be reliable, professional, and able to enforce safety standards respectfully and effectively.
