QA NDT Inspector II
Job Description:
Venture Dynamics is seeking experienced QA NDT Inspectors to support quality assurance and non-destructive testing operations in Norfolk, Virginia. The QA NDT Inspector performs inspections and testing in support of Navy and commercial ship repair activities, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, NAVSEA standards, and contractual requirements. This role supports shipboard and industrial quality control processes through inspection execution, documentation, and reporting of test results. Assignments are project-based and may continue based on performance and operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections including VT, MT, PT, and/or UT in accordance with certification level
- Conduct inspections and document results in compliance with NAVSEA standards and customer requirements
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents to verify adherence to quality and inspection criteria
- Generate and maintain inspection reports, condition found reports (CFRs), and required quality documentation
- Support development and review of test and inspection plans (ITPs) and related procedures
- Perform audits, surveillance, and verification activities to support quality assurance programs
- Maintain and track inspection equipment, gauges, and calibration records
- Coordinate with production teams, supervision, and customer representatives to resolve inspection-related issues
Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in NDT and quality assurance within shipyard, industrial, or manufacturing environments
- Current Level II certification in one or more of the following methods: VT, MT, PT, and/or UT required
- Working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items and government inspection requirements
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and inspection criteria
- Experience generating inspection reports, quality documentation, and non-conformance reports
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to obtain and maintain DBIDS or required base access credentials
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Navy or Department of Defense ship repair operations
- Familiarity with ISO quality standards and audit processes
- Experience interfacing with government inspectors and customer representatives
- Multi-method Level II certification across multiple NDT disciplines
Additional Information
Work is performed aboard vessels, in dry docks, and in industrial shipyard environments supporting Navy and commercial repair operations. Duties may involve confined or elevated spaces and active production areas. Exposure to industrial noise and environmental conditions is expected. PPE is required in accordance with site safety policies, and respiratory protection may be required based on task or location. Reliable transportation is required to report to assigned shipyard or project locations. Work schedules may include overtime, nights, weekends, and variable shifts based on production needs. Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations may be required based on project assignments.
