Structural Lead (Bilingual)
Job Description:
Venture Dynamics is seeking a Structural Lead who is bilingual in English and Spanish to support Navy and commercial ship repair operations. The Structural Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing structural repair and fabrication activities, including steel work, fit-up, and welding, on marine vessels and components. This role leads production crews across multiple trades and ensures clear communication across bilingual teams to maintain safety, quality, and production goals. Assignments are project-based and may continue based on performance and contract demand.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily structural repair and fabrication activities including fitting, welding, and steel work
- Supervise and direct shipfitters, welders, and labor crews to ensure production goals are met
- Communicate work instructions, priorities, and safety expectations to bilingual crews
- Read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to guide work execution
- Coordinate with Project Managers, QA, and production teams to support project schedules and requirements
- Monitor job progress and address production issues in real time to maintain workflow and deadlines
- Adjust manpower and work assignments as needed to meet production demands
- Identify and support documentation of change work including Condition Found Reports (CFRs)
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marine structural repair and fabrication
- Prior leadership or crew lead experience in a shipyard or marine industrial environment
- Fluent in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate clearly with bilingual crews
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Working knowledge of welding processes and structural fit-up practices
- Ability to obtain and maintain required site access credentials, including DBIDS when applicable
- Must pass background screening and drug testing per customer requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Navy ship repair or availability-level work
- Familiarity with NAVSEA standards related to structural repair and fabrication
- OSHA 10 Maritime certification
- Experience coordinating multi-trade production crews
Additional Information
Work is performed aboard vessels, in dry docks, and in industrial shipyard environments supporting Navy and commercial repair operations. Duties may involve confined or elevated spaces and active production areas. Exposure to industrial noise and environmental conditions is expected. PPE is required in accordance with site safety policies, and respiratory protection may be required based on task or location. Work schedules may include overtime, nights, weekends, and variable shifts based on production needs. Reliable transportation is required to report to assigned shipyard or project locations.
