Venture Dynamics is seeking a Receiving Clerk to support Navy and commercial ship repair operations. The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming materials, parts, and equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with project and quality requirements. This role performs visual and basic dimensional inspections of hardware, in-process components, and controlled materials to support production readiness and inventory accuracy. This position may function as an Incoming Quality Inspector depending on assignment. Assignments are project-based and may continue based on performance and contract demand.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections of parts using hand tools and drawing specifications.
  • Verify material certification and conformity to production drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming shipments within the receiving log.
  • Identify, mark, and report rejected materials to ensure quality control.
  • Segregate and protect material identification to maintain strict traceability.
  • Utilize calipers, micrometers, and thread gages to validate part accuracy.
  • Support production workflows by ensuring a clean and organized material intake area.
  • Reinforce site quality standards by following all established receiving clerk procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of in-house manufacturing or shipyard inspection experience.
  • Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, depth gages, and hardness testing equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex production drawings.
  • Advanced computer proficiency including professional experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • General knowledge and understanding of OSHA 1910 standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work independently with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Navy or MIL-SPEC production environment.
  • OSHA 10 Maritime certification.
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA quality assurance standards.
  • Experience with time and temperature-sensitive material handling.

Additional Information Work is performed in active shipyard and shipboard environments supporting Navy and commercial repair operations. The role may require accessing vessels, industrial areas, and production work zones. PPE is required when entering shipyard or shipboard spaces in accordance with site safety policies. Reliable transportation is required to report to assigned shipyard or project locations. Work schedules may include overtime, nights, weekends, and variable shifts based on project or production requirements.
